Now called an "exurb" (commutable town) of New York City, East Fishkill is still a retreat from city life. Sated with waterways such as Walton Lake Gayhead Pond, Gem Lake, Black Pond and Wiccopee Creek it's a haven for aquatic lovers and fishing enthusiasts alike. Home to "Splashdown Water Park" for family fun, visitors can also enjoy natural waters at the 17-acre Red Wing Park with a beach and 8-acre lake fed by an underground spring. Picnic areas, a pavilion, basketball, volleyball, and more sports can be enjoyed there surrounded by fresh-air and gorgeous landscapes of the Appalachian Trail that meanders through the town.
