The D & H Canal Historical Society's Sunday Flea Market starts its season on Sunday May 6, beginning at 9am and ending at 4pm. (The market runs throughout the year, typically ending in mid-October.) This always-changing, eclectic flea market offers antiques and collectibles, local crafts, food and junque for the discriminating collector and the inveterate browser
The Sunday Flea Market will kick off its 2012 season with an antiques appraisal event, to be held from noon until 2pm at the Flea Market. The Market is held in Grady Park, located on Route 213 in the middle of town.
All residents, visitors and weekenders are invited to bring any family heirlooms, yard sale finds, antiques, artwork or collectibles for an appraisal from knowledgeable local antique experts. No jewelry or coins, please. Appraisals will be offered by local experts Sanford Levy, Walter Marquez, Jeff McCoy and Bill Merchant.
The appraisal fee is $5 for one object and $3 for each additional item. All proceeds will benefit the D & H Canal Historical Society & Museum and the Town of Lloyd Historical Society. In case of inclement weather, the appraisals will be held at the D & H Canal Museum chapel, located at 23 Mohonk Road in High Falls.
Dealer space for the Sunday Flea Market at popular prices is still available. To reserve, call Joni at 845-810-0471.
The experts who will conduct the appraisals on May 5 all boast impressive credentials in the field of antiques. |
