Stanford

| |
The longtime home of the late James Cagney, Stanford is located in the foothills of the Fishkill Range. A quiet, intimate township, its many attractions are in neighboring locations, but worth the drive. However, in the hamlet of Bangall, one can find fine epicurean choices at The Inn at Bullis Hall, an elegant, European-style country inn situated within a restored 18th century hotel and for a countrified shopping excursion, there's the Bangall Country Store. Fishing enthusiasts can seek out their bounty at Upton Lake, Ryder Pond, Hunns Lake and Taylor Pond, but are advised to first call the town for gaming regulations.
