Are you prepared to Babysit? Do you know how to…
Properly diaper a baby?
Help a baby or child that is choking?
Perform CPR on a baby or child?
Reduce the risk of SIDS and Shaken Baby Syndrome?
Properly bandage a wound or treat a burn for a baby or child?
Handle the stress of a crying baby?
Handle emergencies in the home?
Set prices and organize a babysitting business?
Ensure the child’s surroundings are safe?

The way we handle emergencies has changed often over the years and this course will make sure your essential skills are up-to-date with today’s most recent guidelines for care. Our Babysitting Preparedness Course covers all of the above and more. The course is led by nationally certified instructors who also have experience as emergency responders in both professional and community environments. This class is most popular among teens but recently we have also had many expecting parents and grandparents take the course so they are well prepared to handle their little ones with proper love and care. This course is for ages 12 to 100. Successful completion of the course will result in a 2-year certification from the American Safety and Health Institute. The cost of this course is $45.00 and it includes the textbooks and materials needed during class. We hold this one-day class at Putnam Hospital Center, Northern Dutchess Hospital and Vassar Brothers Medical Center. This class is for Babysitting certification only and is not a certification for professionals in Daycare, Lifeguarding, Camp Counselors or those in the medical field; we offer other classes for the professional.
