And while the area has always been known for its thriving art scene, the new DM Weil Gallery that opened in New Paltz on May 1 kicks things up a notch by bringing a Soho vibe to the more familiar gallery-in-a-barn approach.
DM Weil, an abstract painter whose paintings have been called, “bold, colorful and deceptively complex” by Contemporary Art Collector, decided that the time was right to move her gallery from New York City to her 18-acre property in New Paltz.
