| MARSHA MASSIH | Marsha Massih grew up in Iowa until the age of 18, when she left for the East Coast to pursue higher education, art and culture. Spending time in Paris and Italy in her early 20's helped inspire her to pursue a career in the fine arts. Marsha began formal art training at the Art Students League of New York City in 1987, concentrating on drawing and oil painting from the live model. She later expanded into the arts of etching/printmaking and watercolors.
Marsha has always been inspired by the beauty of form and the subtlety of value painting so prevalent in the great old masters' paintings. She is equally drawn to the richness and vivacity of color seen in the modern masters' works. As a north-light painter, Marsha's goal has been to combine these sensibilities while adding her own interpretation of those quiet reflections of nature found in the landscape, in still life object | |
